In the case of Pleats Vase, each vessel’s shape directly followed the natural twisting of the wood fibre inside a tree trunk. A unique, yet approachable object that invites people to touch. Through the process of repeating, the increase in the quantity of feathers slowly changes the status of wood. Another life form is created when the surface is covered with a certain amount of feathers. The feathers look similar but different, which enhances the depth of the visual appearance. Each feather is a container of a piece of time that subtly proves the beauty of changes. By applying the texture on a larger surface, the strong visual impact could inspire the audiences to change their perception of seeing ordinary material. The wood feathers connect the sense of visual and touch which gives both mental and physical layers of conflict to audiences. The element of surprise in wood's texture may pique the audience's interest and create new connections with traditional materials through novel experiences.
