The pleats furniture collection is the extension of the craft project Wood Pleats. The collection consists of a chair and a side table. It will further expand into a broader series of furniture applied with the Wood Pleats carving technique. The surface texture visually links with the lake waves, which was part of my research observations on the Finnish summer cottages. The waves were gentle and slowly moved toward the shore. The waves spread horizontally and reached the destination that was out of our vision. The calmness that emerged from the phenomenon comforted the viewer’s inner peace.
